“IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR .. OUR WEDDING!"

Rain, shine or lightning, we will have a wedding! I don't know about you, but time has flown by for us and we have written our last announcement... How fast! Just thinking that we are days away from that great moment and knowing how much we are going to enjoy it with you, my skin has goosebumps, my heart races and my emotions are rising to the surface.

We know that everything you have experienced in the last year and a half, which has changed us, has made us value our time together much more in person. Social media has helped with this distancing, however, they have not managed to change that incredible feeling of seeing you, so after we have been on hiatus, we are happy that this date is approaching because we will have the honor of sharing our happiness .

Our wedding planners have been calling you to ask if you are going to be able to attend the event and we really appreciate that you confirm us promptly. We greatly value your assistance and some things that we need to make known to you are the following:

1. We require a NEGATIVE Covid test, either Antigen or PCR prior to the event (Maximum 72 hours before) and present it to enter the Hacienda. Please remember that we will NOT have anyone to perform the tests that day and it is an essential requirement to take care of all of us.
2. We will have colored bracelets (red and green) to know how comfortable you feel with the closeness of others and thus keep a healthy distance, if necessary.
3. We will have access via Zoom or Facebook for the ceremony. Join us online!
4. Remember to be attentive to your email and our website, so you will find out about news and important details.

We are waiting for you, super charged and ready to open the dance floor, to enjoy as a child with a new toy, with all pleasure and excitement!
Remember, if we can help you clarify any questions or concerns, write to us, call us or contact us via smoke signals or any other means that you consider viable!

We love you very much and can’t wait to celebrate together,
Jennifer Castañeda y Manuel Vargas

They say we have to tell Our Story…. So here it is!

The best things happen when you least expect it... and that is exactly where we found each other. At a funeral, yes, you have read this correctly, at a funeral, and of course neither of us imagined that we would see each other again and much less that our conversations would be so casual and fluid. We talked that day about everything that was happening in our lives: personal, professional, travels, projects, Christmas parties, plans that we coming up, among many other things. As we usually tell it, time seemed to have stopped and while our conversations progressed, our interaction became much stronger or at least that is what it seemed like to me, so there was absolutely no doubt that I wanted to continue with this which was barely the beginning or better yet, a reunion ...

I no longer remember if it was the following Monday morning or if it was that same day Saturday, mmmm .... I think I did wait a few days; one should not look so desperate and so I waited until Monday, and thankfully the weekend went by quickly because I was quite excited about the idea of us seeing each other again. Without further ado, I called her to invite her out that Wednesday while offering to pick her up from her office to go to eat at a restaurant in the area, which she had not yet tried.

From then on everything went by much easier, as if it were written on an agenda. When the day came, I drove to her office and I remember well that she was wearing a dress that made his eyes shine greener, made her smile whiter and made me feel more restless and nervous than any other day ... I will keep a some of the details and if anyone asks, yes, the food was delicious!

I want you to just literally imagine years without seeing each other and BAM we saw each on a Saturday, by Wednesday we were eating together and by Sunday I was flying to Merida to see her, knowing that the first question of my future father-in-law would be… “and what is the reason for your trip?” to which my answer was and will continue to be as clear as that day… “I come to see your daughter … and taking advantage of the trip to work as well.”

And from then on everything happened as easy and as simple as it is to breathe every day and to know that it is a joy to open your eyes knowing you are loved and with the woman you have always dreamed of!

P.S. I imagine that by now you have discovered that the writer of this beautiful text is me (Manuel Vargas Aka The Fiancee)

MERIDA

Nuestras recomendaciones de actividad y restaurantes:

http://www.gruporoyale.net/Jennifer-Manuel

Our activity and restaurant recommendations:

  2. Take a ride in Calesa through the main streets of the downtown.

  3. Visit the Macay Museum, located next to the Cathedral. Admire its magnificent collections of art objects ranging from Mayan pieces to the complex expressions of artists such as graphics, paintings, watercolors, sculptures and digital art!

  4.  The Mayan Museum celebrates Mayan culture with more than 1,110 artifacts found in nearby ruins sites. While this museum houses history, the building is a contemporary design built in the shape of a ceiba tree, a tree that is said to connect the underworld and the heavens in Mayan culture.

  5. Montejo's house is a 16th-century Plateresque building and owned by Don Francisco de Montejo, the conqueror of the Yucatan Peninsula. Now it is a museum and a cultural center. Tours with guides are free and almost all week.

Our recommendations of stylists:

 Transportation :

In Mérida, you can use taxis but also Uber, Cabify, Didi are safe and cheaper.

If you aren't flying directly to Mérida but to Cancun for example, which is an international airport with a lot of destination, you can go to Mérida by bus hasta Mérida. The ADO company is very reliable and has many routes throughout Mexico.
